Together in Service
Part of the concept of
Together in Service is that each group of Presbyterian Women within
the bounds of Washington Presbytery may select local missions to
encourage and support in addition to the yearly Presbytery Mission
Pledge.

Resurrection
Power
Resurrection Power is
a Spiritual outreach to people recovering from addiction and alcoholism. In 2007, the Three Quarter Recovery House for
Women was a project of the PW Synod of the Trinity Mission Committee. Funds are still needed for the completed purchase
of the Three Quarter Recovery House. www.resurrection-power.org
Crossing
the Jordan Covenant House
This health clinic on the campus
of the Church of the Covenant, provides medical services to the
underserved community in Washington County.

and Greene County Women’s Shelters
These shelters provide
a safe environment for those choosing to leave abusive relationships.

Hospitality Network (Washington, PA)

and shelter for families in transition.

Song Ministries
A Retreat House in Greene County,
Pennsylvania offers an ecumenical, collaborative ministry that encourages
and promotes spiritual growth and enrichment through prayer, silence,
retreats, education and spiritual direction in the Christian tradition.

& Soles
Sisters
Audrey and Sue continue to collect funds for moderately priced shoes
for children from ages 3-13 to distribute to those in need at the
beginning each school year. Coats have also been added to their giving
list.
Habitat
for Humanity
Washington
and Greene County Chapters
Affordable housing with
sweat equity by the prospective homeowners has provided many homes
within the bounds of the Washington Presbytery.
Work camps are scheduled regularly and volunteers highly
recruited.
The
Shack
Ongoing educational ministry
primarily to children in Pursglove (Morgantown area), West Virginia
Love
in a Basket
Presbyterian Women of
the Laboratory Church have a ministry to distribute baskets filled
with baby supplies and other items to new, unwed teen mothers, or
other new mothers who lack significant family and/or other support
systems.
The
Community Circle Food Pantry
Established by the Martha Circle
of First Presbyterian Church in 1983, it now serves more than 500
families a month.
