Dear Lord,
Changed seems the only permanence on earth.
Everything on earth changes: mountains erode, rivers
change course; sand dunes shift in the wind.
Tides, seasons, boundaries change.
Sunrises and sunsets, shores, days, months, years change.
Fashions and fads change.
Between birth an death, we change.
But you are ever the same:
Your promises know no breaking.
Your love knows no lessening.
Your mercy knows no diminishing.
Your forgiveness knows no ending.
We thank you, though change is part of the universe,
that Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever. Amen.
